YOU CAN CHOOSE!

EMOP XII in Turku July 20-24, 2016, is to be a rendezvous of parasitologists from all over the world, not just European. We do not intend to offer "something for everybody", but rather "everything for the parasitologist".

In order to fulfil the goal, preparations are already in full swing. Now, we feel that we need YOUR help.

YOU can help us by giving thumbs up (or down) to the topics we have preliminarily planned as sessions/symposia/workshops at the EMOP XII. We promise to give a careful consideration to the poll results in compiling the program in collaboration with the Scientific Committee and the European Federation of Parasitologists Board.

As a reward, YOU'LL get a most interesting, fruitful and scientifically satisfying program.

Please tick your preferences in the bottom of this blog!

YOU can also suggest yourself or somebody else to arrange or chair a workshop.
YOU also can suggest topics not listed below. We may have overlooked many emerging or otherwise interesting subjects. Please, enter your suggestions in the “comments” box below.

Thank YOU for helping us!

  1. Hello, is this also where para-parasitological themes can be suggested, not as real sessions, but as topics for invited speakers? Subjects like plant parasitology, sociological view on parasites of the human society, or anything else of possible general interest.....

  7. Dear Organizers:

Great fleas have little fleas upon their backs to bite 'em, And little fleas have lesser fleas, and so ad infinitum. And the great fleas themselves, in turn, have greater fleas to go on; While these again have greater still, and greater still, and so on.

Have you thought about the philosophical aspects of parasitism?

  8. Evolutionary Parasitology is perhaps the most important parasitological trend recently. So, please don't neglect the most important aspects of our profession, thank you.

  9. Sirs,

Have you considered the sensitivity and specificity of diagnostic tests? Maybe these issues are essential for understanding the value of parasitological surveys. What do you think?

  10. Dear JR,

On behalf of the Local Organizing Committee I'm happy to see that our thoughts have been rather similar, although you have formulated them in a more comprehensible manner. We had one topic suggestion called "Diagnostics, how to deal with probability and uncertainty?"

I would also like to thank for all the good suggestions received so far. Together, we'll for sure create a most interesting and stimulating program.

  14. Excellent opportunity for Tapeworm Taxonomists.
Major operations, control processes and evaluations start after knowing the name of Parasites. There should be seperate session on Systematic s and modern methods.
